Wishing everyone a blessed and healthy Holiday Season.

Reflection
The Holiday Season and approach of the New Year often brings to mind past memories.  It’s a time when we recall old friendships and wonder how we got out of touch. It’s a time when we think of happy moments and the sad times as well. It’s also a time we make new resolutions and a time for charity and forgiveness. The essence of it all is, Christmas is a wonderful time of the year and I’m taking this opportunity to wish everyone a very special Holiday.

Tin Can Sailor
The New Jersey Bull Session Saturday, March 24, 2001 at the Holiday Inn Center Point, Jamesburg, NJ. Try to attend, it’s a lot of fun and dinner is exceptionally good. We have always had a good Perry turnout.

Admiral
I believe we can all share in the happiness when one of our own attains such an outstanding achievement. I think I speak for all the Perry when I say we’re proud to be associated with the Pruett’s. Son David receives his star on January 3 and will become Commander-Pacific Division of Engineering/Seabees for 2 years.  He's in process of reorganizing the Engineering-Facilities Department of the Navy.
Kudos to Dad, Bill, for a job well done.

USS Perry DD844 web site
It’s just wonderful that our web site continues to attract new shipmates. In the last few months we have picked up at least a dozen or so survivors. Check out our site, it’s always interesting to see who came aboard and to view the new photo albums and letters from our new shipmates. We also have some great photos of the USS Cole.

Navy Beats Army, 30-28
The victory gave Navy two straight wins in the series for the first time since 1982-83, but Army still holds a 48-46-7 lead. Thata way to go Navy!

Pearl Harbor Remembered
At 7:55 a.m. on December 7, 1941, the Japanese launched an aerial attack on the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, bringing America into World War. Our own Capt. G. Ball, 1956 Cdr. DD844 was also Officer-of-the-day aboard Perry #3 during the attack.

USS Cole
The USS Cole will complete her long journey home this week. The Cole will be repaired at Ingalls Shipyard in Pascagoula, MS. It will take at least a year and $240 million to make her ship shape again. Yet we still have not taken any action against the terrorist Osama Bin Laden and the administration is considering what actions, if any, will be taken. We are long past the time for action. We need to punish this terrorist now!
